ABSTRACT:
The Heart Sounds Community consists of Roma women and men, healthcare workers, women’s rights and birth rights activists, and other professionals working with vulnerable groups.
Since 2017, they have been actively addressing social divisions and institutional violence by conducting workshops and theater performances aimed at transforming societal structures.
The group pays special attention to how oppression and violence specifically affecting Roma women is present in the health and social care system, and how this affects the fate of mothers and their children.
How do employees and users of the care system become enemies of each other?
How can we establish associations and environments that truly protect and support children?
At the workshop, the participants explore these questions with the tools of sociodrama, highlighting their importance and relevance for both the group and the wider community.
The workshop will be preceded by a filmscreening on June 27 at 9 p.m. Registration for the workshop is subject to registration for the film screening, as the two programs are interconnected.
